Day fire burns more than 250 square miles within the Santa Clara River watershed

The Day fire, which started in the Los Padres National Forest on Labor Day, is reported to be 100% contained.  The fire has burned more than 163,908 acres of Los Padres National Forest, including areas of the Piru, Sespe, and Santa Paula subwatersheds.  It is the 5th largest fire in California history. Estimated cost of containing the fire has topped $70 million.
